形容长年刻苦读书。

元·刘祁《归潜志》卷七：“古人谓十年窗下无人问，一举成名天天下知。”

[persevere ten years in one's studies in spite of hardships] 科举时代,知识分子为考取功名,终年埋头窗下读书。“十年寒窗”,形容闭门苦读时间之长——亦作“十年窗下”“十载寒窗”
